Natalie’s Journey to Becoming a Counselor

I was born and raised in Colorado and although I have loved my community, I decided it was time for some warm weather and moved to Phoenix to get my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in counseling. Throughout my time in Phoenix, I learned how much I love spending intentional time with individuals and how each person’s story is different and valued. I have been a nanny and worked on a psychiatric unit and I have learned so much about the importance of relationships and how each individual copes with the intensity of the human experience. Ultimately, my faith in Jesus has led me to my career in counseling and I am excited to be a part of your journey.

Natalie’s Approach to Counseling

I work from a relational standpoint and that is why I truly find it a great honor to learn about the deepest, most beautiful, and messy parts of who someone is and getting the chance to be just a small part in someone’s story is something I don’t take lightly. Everyone’s story deserves to be told and heard. My goal is for you to feel empowered and know how valued and inherently worthy you are. I believe that goal can be achieved collaboratively by working together to find healing and solutions that work best for you. Counseling can be scary, so I work at a pace that feels comfortable and productive for you with empathy, grace, and understanding. I utilize a client centered approach when doing play therapy and talk therapy, while incorporating different interventions and techniques.

Natalie’s Specialties

I am interested in working with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with:

  • Attachment
  • Divorce
  • Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Adjustments/Transitions
  • Self-worth/confidence
  • Anger (children)

My passion is to help individuals where relationships need to be strengthened and to help heal or manage childhood wounds. I want to help you grow, learn, and know your worth. The experiences we go through as a child can shape us and can come out in our adult years in ways that are shocking and confusing. I want to be there for your child as they are going through situations in their early life or be there for you, in your adult years, as you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and find new ways to cope.
