Anxiety

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is that moment when you make a decision and seems like the weight of the world is on your shoulders, and your heart starts racing, your adrenaline increases, your muscles tighten, and you feel your breaths start to become short and shallow. Yes you are experiencing anxiety, which is by definition a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. With anxiety, every thought and every feeling in your body can be hijacked because you are worried about what will happen or what people would think.

Anxious living is not a lifestyle that comes with little burden, and each of those burdens come in many forms and can cause:

  • health issues
  • relationship issues
  • work issues
  • among other issues

You get to the point where you will do anything to make it go away and then eventually those choices become a problem.  No matter where you turn to find relief, anxiety can make us feel very alone and that we have to face this burden on our own.

How can therapy help with anxiety?

Anxiety occurs for a variety of reasons and can be managed in a way that will have lasting emotional and physical effects. Anxiety is a hard emotion to hide, and many times people find themselves hiding their fear from everyone around them. That makes it impossible to get help. When anything is left untreated, it can only grow out of control. When treating anxiety with therapy you can find a safe place where you can come in and talk about your worries so that you can understand and start to take control of them. I want to help you understand your anxiety as a whole:

  • the surface and underlying causes
  • why anxiety is so overwhelming
  • how to find healthy ways to decrease your anxiety

I want to help you relinquish the control your anxiety has on you, and help you find healthy ways to cope and manage your anxiety for long-term peace. So, if you are part of the 20+% of Americans that struggle with anxiety, please reach out to find peace in the midst of your struggle. I want to meet you where you are at and help you find a sense of harmony and connection in your life.
